Ed makes many handcrafted products in his workshop, including clocks! The wood used in these products are usually exotic
woods grown right on our ranch, including Almond, Black Walnut, Maple and Cedar, as well as imported exotic woods such as
Monkeypod and Mango.
Ed Foss has been woodworking most of his life. Some of his earliest memories are of his grandfather and namesake, Edward
Russell Sandidge, who was an accomplished finish carpenter, working in his shop. Throughout the 60’s , he built many
custom homes in the Sacramento area. He taught his grandson about fine woods and working them by hand…. And to love working
with wood.
Ed has over 25 years of experience himself, building custom rifles and shotguns, shaping and fitting the exotic woods to
custom guns. He has also rebuilt and reconditioned antique furniture. Ed takes great pleasure in creating unique and
unusual pieces from the wood that he scouts out from the local woodlands and orchards. Each gift is painstakingly created by
hand, then finished with several hand rubbed coats of oil or polyurethane.
