In addition to fiber animals and almonds, we have GIANT RUNT PIGEONS

"China" is our Great Pyrenees that we got from Great Pyrenees Rescue of Northern California . She is a working Livestock Guardian, and is a great addition to the menagerie. She alerts us if cars or dogs get too close to the property (translated, this means she likes to bark!)

China was born and bred in Japan and has had approximately 6 homes in her nearly 6 years of life here in the United States. She and her sister shared a garage in their first home in the US for 18 months. They were separated and China was adopted by several other families in the Silicon Valley area before making her way to the more rural Northern California. China now lives in Dixon on this small family ranch. She is guarding guanacos and exotic animals but spends most of her daylight hours hanging with Ed in his workshop. We love the way she has settled in. After having 6 homes in just 6 years, China is finally “home”, where she has room to run and barking is not a problem.

Great Pyrenees Rescue of Northern California has provided a wonderful gift to us through the rescue and placement of this great companion. If you are looking for a pet, please consider rescue. Our house dog, Alfi, is also from a rescue organization... Longdog Rescue of Northern California . He has also been a wonderful gift in our lives.

On the fiber front, we have a couple of sheep at our house, and several more at my sister's house. These two are "Leah", an 8 year old CVM (California Varigated Mutant) and "Curley Sue", a 62% Wensleydale.
